I was skeptical due to the weight of the gun. Mounted it vertical and Gun with 16 00 buckshot and held great
Pretty unique design for a pretty unique shotgun I would have to describe it as. Although I receiver a pre-release and I was not sent any follow up unit or offered one for a discount I assume there were not any improvements made. I have to be honest though this was and is not my favorite mount by Spartan. Do NOT get me wrong!...It serves its purpose well, but I have been figuring out these mounts need to be really mounted into a stud or have plywood backing to be truly sturdy. This shotgun is a beast and a heavy 10lb. behemoth needs to be secured. It is also hard to adjust to get just right because you are balancing the weight of the whole things from the ejection port on the rear of the shotgun. With that you need to tweak the mount to have the weapon level and looking its best, as well as adjust the sag and flex of the plastic mount just right. I feel there could have been an additional improvement made on this mount that would add to this design.Maybe the Owner will read my post and fix the issue at least in my opinion it is. There is a safety device the firearm ships with that is a thin piece of plastic that slips between the cocking mechanism to prevent a chambering of the rounds. Using another mount made using that spot as a secondary point of contact which would sturdy up the whole thing. Either way I was happy with the purchase but I would have been happier with that improved someday. Hope this helps make this your choice either way it really is the only way to go!
